Reopening of tourism in India

International travellers can now travel in India as the Ministry of Home Affairs began granting fresh Tourist Visas to foreigners coming to India through chartered flights w.e.f from October 15. This decision has come as a relief of joy to the foreigners who wanted to visit and explore India for a long time but  couldn’t because all visas granted to foreigners were suspended last year, due to Covid- 19 pandemic. Travelers who want to visit India through commercial flights will have to wait till November 15, 2021. After an 18- month hiatus, everyone welcomed this decision as a breath of fresh air for the Indian tourism industry and Indian economy that got severely affected during the pandemic. Covid related protocols which have been issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, from time to time, must be followed by all foreign tourists, as well as carriers carrying them into the country, and all stakeholders at the landing stations during their inbound travel.
